How to make a Tiny Desk AI video

One photo is the only input. Every clip from this template is five seconds, with sound.

  1. Pick the photo

Use one clear, front-facing photo — shoulders up, even light, no hat or sunglasses. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. The sharper the face, the more the clip looks like you.

  2. Choose the output

This template renders 5-second clips only, and resolution sets the price: 480p/5s is 1 credit. Test a photo at 480p before you commit to a bigger render. Every clip is 9:16 vertical, with sound.

  3. Generate

Sign in with Google, confirm the credit cost, then hit Generate. It takes a few minutes. If a render fails, its credits are refunded automatically, and the finished clip also shows up under My videos in your account.

  4. Post it

Download the MP4 and post it vertical with sound on. Some platforms may mute uploaded audio — if that happens, add the sound back with the platform's own audio tools.

What is the Tiny Desk AI video?

It's a fan-made format built on a set everyone recognizes: a desk, a few microphones, headphones and a wall of records. One photo goes in; a short performance clip comes out with your face in it.

  1. Where does the scene come from?

The look is a small office desk with microphones, headphones and shelves of records behind the performers. These clips are generated, not recorded: a reference video supplies the scene, the camera move and the sound, and a single photo supplies the face.

  2. What happens in the clip — and who else is in it?

A small group stands behind a red keyboard desk: one person seated in the centre wearing a white cap, two more behind them in team jackets. The centre figure is the one swapped for your face; the others, the desk, the microphones and the shelves stay as they are.

  3. Why did it blow up?

A set everyone recognizes, a one-photo workflow, and a joke that survives any face — coaches, characters, friends. The format travels as short vertical clips with sound, and five seconds is enough to land it.

  4. What is it for?

A sound-on vertical clip for TikTok, Reels or Shorts. One photo, one credit, a few minutes — a way to join the joke without a camera, a band or an edit.

Before you buy

Short answers about credits, sound, downloads and what happens to your upload.

  • How much does it cost?

Generations run on prepaid credits — there's no free tier. One credit covers a 480p/5s video, and higher resolution or longer clips cost more. Credits never expire.

    See pricing

  • Does the video have music?

Yes — every clip is generated with music and sound. TikTok, Reels and Shorts may mute or limit uploaded audio automatically, so keep the downloaded MP4 as your master and add the platform's own audio if that happens. The file itself keeps its sound.

  • Can I download it — is there a watermark?

Yes. Finished videos are 9:16 MP4 files listed under My videos, downloadable directly. No watermark is added.

  • Can I leave the page while it renders?

Yes. You need an account to start a render, but once it is running you can close the tab — the job keeps going and the finished video appears under My videos.

  • What happens if a generation fails?

A failed or timed-out render returns its credits automatically, so you are not charged for it. You can retry with the same photo.

    Read the terms

  • Can I get a refund?

An unused credit pack can be refunded in full within 30 days, as long as none of its credits have been used and it is your most recent unrefunded pack. Once credits are used, the pack is non-refundable.

    Refund policy

  • What happens to my photo?

It is used to generate your video and deleted when the generation finishes. Your account, credit records and finished videos stay until you delete them.

    Privacy Policy

  • Can I upload a photo of someone else?

Only if you have their consent and the rights to use it. Do not upload a photo to impersonate someone or create misleading content.
